The Phillips Baton
We at Buckeye Brass & Winds are proud to introduce the new PHILLIPS BATON. After 3 years of close collaboration with current, past, and aspiring drum majors, we have developed a product that not only exceeds expectations but can actually enhance the performing art and skill of twirling.
The request and goal was to design and manufacture an all metal drum-major baton. Not only is the PHILLIPS BATON all metal, but it incorporates features allowing the performer to customize the baton to their style and skill level. To make these features possible, the baton is now modular.
The PHILLIPS BATON is comprised of an aluminum alloy screw-on ball, a tempered alloy steel shaft, and differing weight screw-in steel tips. All of these components are finished in MIL-Spec exceeding chrome plate.
All components are interchangeable, making it possible to have 'game' baton set-up and 'practice' baton set-up, all the while retaining twirling characteristics, increasing the life of the baton and remaining affordable.
The weighting system is totally customizable and is not limited to the stock components. This allows the peformer to "dial-in" the baton to their needs and strengths. Whether it be increasing maximum height throws, increasing twirling speed, or just moving the balance point for twirling comfort, the weighting system can enhance your performance.
